C. Sharkey Enterprises installed its first athletic field irrigation system in 1972. Hydraulic tubings and controls activated that system and it is still in operation to this day. Today most athletic fields are activated electrically and utilize various sensors and meters that monitor rainfall and water usage. The most important factor in designing an athletic field system is selecting durable materials that can withstand the abuse of daily traffic, heavy equipment and infrequent maintenance. Safety is a key factor with every Sharkey designed athletic field system.
